Yassin Mohammed the reality artist
Yassin is an Egyptian artist, his art stems from his surrounding environment. He paints events derived from reality, expressing his emotions and feelings towards the issues of society at home and the world.
Beginning of creativity
In prison, he started to draw and express what he feels. He managed to smuggle his works out in various ways through visitors because art is prohibited in prison.
Paintings were kept in his house until he got out of prison on September 21st, 2018. He tried to publish and show them in exhibitions so that people can see the truth of what life is like in prison.
Academic career
Although he didn’t study art academically, he has an artistic taste that distinguishes him from others, he can share the details of his paintings moment by moment and make spectators able to live the paintings without complication by using many tools such as ink, oil colors, pencils, cloth, and paints as a picture is worth a thousand social media posts and a million words.
Exhibitions & Contributions
He participated in many exhibitions inside and outside Egypt, most recently a festival of fine art in Tunisia with artists from the Arab world.
