Why is Armenia considered one of the most suitable countries for Arab tourists?
Armenia often brags about its global geopolitical position; few countries can boast of having close and friendly relations simultaneously with countries in the West, Asia, and the Middle East, and These statistics prove this. While Armenia can appeal to such different demographic groups as it strives to market and provide services and experiences tailored to the needs, interests, and desires of a wide range of demographic groups, the growth potential remains largely untapped.
Tourism in Armenia has been an important sector of the Armenian economy since the 1990s. It has four UNESCO World Heritage Sites:Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries in Haghpat; Echmiadzin Church and Cathedral; the Zvartnots archaeological site in Vagharshapat; and Geghard Monastery and Upper Azat Valley in Goght There are also four World Heritage Sites planned in Armenia:
The archaeological site of the city of Dvin, the basilica and archaeological site of Yereruk, Tatev and Tatevi monasteries, Noravank monastery, and the upper valley of Amaghu. Despite internal and external problems, the number of tourist arrivals is steadily increasing. Most tourists focus their trip on Yerevan, the capital, where the majority of tour companies, attractions, and hotels are located.
Outdoor activities, sightseeing, and nature tourism seem to be the main attractions.
Tsaghkadzor, Jermuk, and Dilijan are known as hill stations outside the capital. Tourists stay in hotels in these cities to make day-long trips throughout Armenia without having to return to Yerevan every day. Classic tours to Armenia are not only popular among tourists but also locals. Climbing, camping, hiking, and other types of outdoor activities are also popular.
In addition to the above, the exchange rate, the presence of many Arabic restaurants, especially Lebanese restaurants, which offer Halal Food, and the presence of many Arabic and English speakers, especially among young Armenians returning to their homeland, are some of the key factors encouraging Arab tourists to come.
